In this this two hour live, online presentation, the Oscar-nominated sound designer Martín Hernández (THE REVENANT, BIRDMAN, CITY OF GOD, AMORES PERROS) joins editor Luis Zerón Rugerio AMAE (OSCURO DESEO, YANKEE, EL CHAPO, SR. ÁVILA) and digital colorist David Martínez (Universal Music, Warner Music, Volvo) to examine how an effective alignment of editing, sound, and color can take your dramatic experience to a new and thrilling level. Join these accomplished professionals as they dig into the art of post-production.

Instructor: Martín Hernández
Martín Hernández is an Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning sound designer and supervising sound editor. His credits include BIRDMAN, THE REVENANT, AMORES PERROS, PAN’S LABYRINTH, CITY OF GOD, ON THE ROAD, BABEL, HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY, INTO THE WILD, 21 GRAMS, and many other film and shows. He has recently worked on series for Netflix, Viacom and HBO. Martin has collaborated with directors such as Alejandro González Iñárritu, Sean Penn, Guillermo Del Toro, Luis Mandoki, Alfonso Cuarón, Walter Salles, Josephine Decker and Joe Swanberg. Martin received Academy Award nominations for Best Sound Editing in 2014 for BIRDMAN and 2015 for THE REVENANT. He was a BAFTA Winner for THE REVENANT and BAFTA nominee for PAN'S LABYRINTH, BABEL and BIRDMAN. Martin currently heads the audio post division at Cinematic Media in Mexico City.
Instructor: Luis Zerón
Luis Zerón has edited series for Netflix and HBO, feature films, documentaries, music videos, and commercials. Based in Mexico City, he is a member of the AMAE (Spanish association of editors).
Most recently, Luis was Lead Editor for the Netflix global hit series "Triada" which premiered in 2023. He has also worked as Lead Editor and Editor on series like "Dark Desire" (2020-2022, Netflix), "Yankee" (2019, Netflix), "Ingobernable" (2018, Netflix), "El Chapo" (2017, Netflix), and "Sr. Ávila" (2016, HBO), an International Emmy Award-winner. He also recently worked on the feature documentary "Out of Reach: The Struggle of the American Dream" (Socially Distant Productions), which is currently in post-production.
He has a Master of Fine Arts in Media Arts from Maine Media College, a Masters degree in Film Editing from ESCAC Barcelona, and a BA in Communication from the Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla. He teaches editing workshops at Maine Media Workshops + College.
