Martín Hernández is an Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning sound designer and supervising sound editor. His credits include BIRDMAN, THE REVENANT, AMORES PERROS, PAN’S LABYRINTH, CITY OF GOD, ON THE ROAD, BABEL, HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY, INTO THE WILD, 21 GRAMS, and many other film and shows. He has recently worked on series for Netflix, Viacom and HBO. Martín has collaborated with directors such as Alejandro González Iñárritu, Sean Penn, Guillermo Del Toro, Luis Mandoki, Alfonso Cuarón, Walter Salles, Josephine Decker and Joe Swanberg.
Martín received Academy Award nominations for Best Sound Editing in 2014 for BIRDMAN and 2015 for THE REVENANT. He was a BAFTA Winner for THE REVENANT and BAFTA nominee for PAN’S LABYRINTH, BABEL and BIRDMAN.
Starting his career in the late 1980’s as a radio host and producer at Mexico City’s WFM969 along with Alejandro G Iñarritu, he created radio short stories and an ‘on air’ production style that became a landmark in that era. In 1998, Martín started doing sound design for film with Alejandro’s first feature, AMORES PERROS, a film that received Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations for Best Foreign Film.
Martín currently heads the audio post division at Cinematic Media in Mexico City.

Entre sus trabajos se incluyen: Birdman, The Revenant, Amores Perros, Pan’s Labyrinth (El laberinto del Fauno), City of God, On The Road, Babel, Hellboy II, The Golden Army, Into the Wild, 21 Grams, y muchas otras producciones de cine y televisión. Recientemente ha estado envuelto en series de Netflix, Viacom y HBO. Martin ha colaborado con directores de la talla de Guillermo Del Toro, Luis Mandoki, Alfonso Cuarón, Walter Salles, Josephine Decker y Joe Swanberg.
Martín ha sido nominado para recibir el premio de la Academia como Mejor Edición de sonido en Birdman en el 2014 y por The Revenant en el 2015, asi como nominado para el premio BAFTA por El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan’s Labyrinth), Babel y Birdman.
A finales de los 80 comenzó su carrera como anfitrión radial y productor en WFM969 de la Ciudad de Mexico quien junto a Alejandro González Iñarritu, creo historias radiales cortas y producciones en vivo. En el 1998, Martin empezó haciendo diseño de sonido para películas en el primer largometraje de Alejandro; Amores Perros, película que recibió nominaciones en los Golden Globes y la Academia, en la categoría de Mejor película extranjera.
Al presente, Martin dirige la división de posproducción de audio de Cinematic Media en la Ciudad de México.
