After a rigorous national search, Michael Mansfield has been named as the next President of the Maine Media Workshops and College. In addition, Elizabeth Greenberg has been promoted to the new role of Provost.
The Certificate in Collaborative Filmmaking (CCF) at Maine Media is a hands-on program that is designed to provide the next generation of creative professionals with an alternative entry into the film industry in less than one full year. Industry professionals serve as instructors and the curriculum is tightly focused on equipping students with the concrete expertise, skills, and knowledge necessary to launch a career in the film and television marketplaces. The many filmmakers who have trained in workshops and classes at Maine Media include Academy Award-winning directors Alejandro González Iñárritu (back-to-back Best Director Oscars for Birdman and The Revenant) and Laura Poitras (Best Documentary Feature – Citizenfour); Emmy-winning director Michelle MacLaren (Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The X-Files, and The Walking Dead), actor/writer/producer John Leguizamo (Bloodline, Ice Age), and Oscar-nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Wolf of Wall Street).
Maine Media Workshops + College is dedicated to excellence, and without your continued support MMW+C would not have been able to welcome nearly 70 international students this year, who brought with them their unique global perspectives; the students who receive scholarships, most of them young artists; or the hundreds of students who come from across the United States, the State of Maine, and your local community.
