The Arnold Newman Prize for New Directions in Photographic Portraiture recognizes excellence in a new generation of photographers by awarding $20,000 to a photographer whose work demonstrates a compelling new vision in the genre of portraiture.
Established in 2009 by the Arnold and Augusta Newman Foundation, the prize is generously funded by the Foundation and proudly administered by Maine Media Workshops + College.
Maine Media Workshops + College is dedicated to excellence, and without your continued support MMW+C would not have been able to welcome nearly 70 international students this year, who brought with them their unique global perspectives; the students who receive scholarships, most of them young artists; or the hundreds of students who come from across the United States, the State of Maine, and your local community.
