Mystify and mesmerize with this magic box of mysterious toys and tricks! In this workshop, you will learn the secrets of this hidden compartment, the magic wallet box. Open the magic box to reveal hypnotizing optical paper toys. Then close the box and open it again to unveil an entirely different set of paper toys, including a volvelle, flexagon, and thaumatrope. How does it work, you ask? Through the magic of book arts, all will be revealed.

6 hours total (three 2-hour sessions over the 3 weeks).

Tools required:

  •  X-Acto knife or scalpel and extra blades
    pencil
  • bone folder
  • Metal ruler (at least 12”)
  • Small Triangle/Set Square 3-4”
  • cutting mat (or layers of cardboard to protect your table while cutting)
  • Small pointed scissors
  • PVA glue and glue brush
  • waste paper (or junk mail to glue on)
