This workshop offers foundation level training in Audio Post Production for TV and film.

Audio Post Production is the general term for all stages of audio production happening between the actual recording on location or in a studio and the completion of a final project. It involves Production Dialogue Editing, ADR, Foley recording, Background and Sync FX, Recording, Sound Design, Music Editing and Mixing (re-recording). All of it presented via live Zoom sessions with an expert instructor.

The workshop offers a unique opportunity to develop the professional skills required to work in this exciting area of the industry. Learn to guide a project through this critical phase of post-production.

When students have completed this workshop,  they will be able to:

  • Utilize Post Production Techniques
  • Apply ADR
  • Apply Foley
  • Apply SFX
  • Apply Sound Design

PREREQUISITE:  Anyone wishing to take this course should take 2-day Pro Tools (July 18-19) or have a basic knowledge of Pro Tools. Students will need to have AVID Pro Tools software on their computers. A free 30 Day Trial of the software is available here.

Instructor: Walter Clissen

Walter has 25+ years of experience in all aspects of the audio world. He has worked internationally as a producer, recording engineer, live sound engineer, sound designer, and audio post production engineer. He has done sound mixing, and sound design for film, theatre, opera, websites, and art installations. Recently, he’s worked with international recording star Jose Feliciano, doing the audio mix on the Blu-ray release Jose Feliciano: Live in Tel Aviv, and providing select front-of-house mixing at various festivals in Europe.  He also engineered a recording session for the acclaimed a cappella group Anonymous 4 and the Grammy Award-winning composer Christopher Tin. He co-composed and sound designed Seven Stars in Paradise, a new musical for screen adaptation. He has lectured and taught audio courses and workshops at UCLA, Amsterdam School of the Arts, The University of Kent (UK), CSU Fresno, and at Allan Hancock College.
