This introductory class is for new filmmakers, photographers, or anyone else who would like to learn the basics of shooting video with manual settings. Students discover how Digital SLRs and Video Camcorders work, and learn how to choose and utilize the optimal settings for various shooting environments.

  •          Proper Exposure
  •          Aperture / f-stop
  •          Shutter speed
  •          Focal length
  •          Depth of field
  •          White balance/Color Temperature
  •          ISO
  •          The Basics of composition and framing
  •          Best Practices for shooting

Students are welcome to bring their own camera, be it a DSLR, camcorder, or otherwise  (Bring your manual!) There will also be a a variety of DSLR bodies provided by the school, available for you to work with.

You will leave the workshop fully equipped with the foundational skills to begin shooting high quality video!

Prerequisite:
No previous knowledge or experience required.

Lunch is included. Lodging is available on campus $75/night, private room & bath
