Jule SelboKnowing story genres means that you’re thinking about your audience: is that important?  Writer Jule Selbo will examine how understanding story genres in screenplays, novels, plays and short stories can not only be empowering and make the writing fun, but helps you see where your work lives in the marketplace. Jule is an award-winning novelist and screenwriter, a playwright, and a professor whose books on character and genre are used in universities throughout the world. Hosted by Wayne Beach.

Jule Selbo is an award-winning novelist and screenwriter, a playwright, and a professor. She has written for HBO, Disney, the Jim Henson Company (the Muppets), and other studios and networks. Jule loves talking story and her books Screenplay: Building Story Through Character and Film Genre for the Screenwriters (Routledge) are used in many universities and film schools. She is also a playwright and novelist – and believes it all comes down to characters and story. Jule recently completed writing Eight Days, the third of a 10-volume series of mystery novels featuring Dee Rommel.
