A week long immersion into Collodion!

You will learn about the history of this process and all the chemistry, procedures, exposure and post treatments. Discussions will include varnishing, storage and glass preparation.  

Primary collodion forms will be discussed and explored as processes: 

Collodion Negatives
Ambrotypes
Tintypes

Maine Media possess an 8×10 camera for use or you may bring your own. A field box is also available to explore and experience collodion plate work in the landscape. 

A short list of required materials for you to bring will be provided.

Instructor: Brenton Hamilton

Brenton holds his MFA in photography from the Savannah College of Art & Design. His teaching specialties include, B&W Craft,  Historic Processes, and the History of Photography. Brenton is an enthusiastic workshop leader exhibiting special care and interest in the teaching process and experience for his students.
