Seeking Gallery Representation to Enter the Commercial Marketplace 3 - Alice Zimet

It’s not enough to take photographs. Photographers also must learn to get out into the commercial marketplace. This 8-session workshop is aimed toward photographers who have a body of work that is ready for market access.

Taught by a pioneer collector, Alice Zimet, this series will offer hands-on strategies and practical tips on how to gain representation, advance your practice, and get collected. We’ll cover a different subject each session, ranging from the questions collectors ask, to how to find and best approach a gallery, to how to promote and brand yourself.

During the final three classes, each student will present their work and promotional materials, followed by peer critique. Students will walk away more confident, prepared, and aware of how the fine art photography marketplace works and how to best dive in.

“What pragmatic and practical information… I changed my artist statement, website and resume the next day!” – Lisa W.
