This class introduces students to the tenets of graphic design as they develop a brand identity that encompasses fonts, color palette, logo development, examples of print collateral, and imagery. Exercises throughout the week on brand guidelines and identity development will push students towards an understanding of how concept, identity, and brand can be expressed visually through all aspects of design.

This workshop is perfect for small business owners and artists looking to make their marketing and visual presence more cohesive and compelling, as well as students who are interested in graphic design and wish to build their portfolio. The knowledge gained in this workshop can be applied to any graphic design project.

Class time will be split between hands-on exercises, group discussions on the history of graphic design and case studies, and individual work time. Students should have basic working knowledge of InDesign and a business or concept they’d like to design (or re-design) a visual design suite around.
