NOTE: This class will be held in a live, online format using the Zoom Platform.
Class meets weekly on Mondays 2-4pm ET

In this course, you will explore integrating photography and text in your personal work, whether you are interested in making a photo-illustrated novella or just need help adding shorter textual support to photographic projects. This course will also introduce you to the history of text-image projects in photography and include an overview of such work in contemporary practice.

During this five-session workshop, lectures will cover basic strategies for weaving together text and image into a cohesive whole, allowing forms of expression made possible only through the alchemy of mixing the two. Students will be encouraged to begin development of their own text-image projects based on the lectures. We will have in class critiques lead by the instructor in which you will receive personalized feedback on your work to help you realize your ideas forcefully.
