She helped to pioneer an innovative start-up, produced highly-acclaimed independent films on micro-budgets, and has worked with creative visionaries for much of her career. Through it all, it always comes down to one question: how do you align a creative goal with the resources it takes to achieve it? Alexis Alexanian has over twenty years of industry experience as a producer and consultant to major industry players. Her credits include high-budget studio films and micro-budget independents. She began her career in production on high-profile films such as Mississippi Burning, A Bonfire of the Vanities, A League of Their Own, and Striptease. She co-founded the groundbreaking digital initiative, InDigEnt where she produced nine ultra-low budget features including the Sundance hits Tadpole, Rebecca Miller’s Personal Velocity (for which Alexis won the John Cassavetes Independent Spirit Award), Pieces of April, Richard Linklater’s Tape, and Cannes Directors Fortnight favorite Chelsea Walls, Ethan Hawke’s directorial debut. As President of Production at LOCOMOTIVE, she managed a broad slate of film and TV projects including Rebecca Miller’s Maggie’s Plan, starring Greta Gerwig, Ethan Hawke, and Julianne Moore. Under her banner, Elixir Films, credits include the international hit TV series Long Way Round featuring Ewan McGregor, and Ethan Hawke’s The Hottest State.
Alexis is well known for her tenure as President of the Board of New York Women in Film & Television and currently serves on the Board of BAFTA North America.
