The nude is a wonderful subject to explore our personal identity, our sense of self, and the nature of beauty.

Workshop Fee: $1,495 (includes model fee of $200)
Class Size: 14
In this workshop, we will learn to see the nude in a new way. Through engaging exercises and insightful discussions, we will take the intimidation out of photographing the nude. Using models of different body types–young and old, male and female, thin and not-so-thin—we can explore our feelings and preconceptions of how the body looks. It is a classical and magnificent subject, and still possesses the potential for artistic inspiration and originality. We will use an intuitive approach in looking at the body to produce images that are uniquely our own. In discovering the human form beyond our initial judgements and visual assumptions, we will rediscover it as a vehicle for the deepest personal expression.
This class is recommended for passionate amateurs, experienced professionals, and anyone interested in creating new and powerful images through exploration and discovery. Since this is not based in a digital lab, students are encouraged to bring a laptop for image processing and editing, as well as a portfolio of 10-15 images to share with the class.
