Join us as we go inside the collector’s mind! Serving as the Chair of the Acquisition Committee at both the Harvard Art Museums and the International Center of Photography, Alice Sachs Zimet began collecting photography in 1985 and has amassed a collection of over 300 museum-quality images. How did that journey begin, what was the impetus to buy her first piece, and what goes into the collector’s decision-making process?

Collectors (from nascent to more seasoned) will gain insight into the world of fine art photography from a pioneer collector. Photographers will better understand the collector’s perspective and receive useful tips to advance their own personal practice in order to get collected.

Alice Sachs Zimet has been a collector of fine photography for 30+ years, as well as an educator, consultant, and advisor with regular participation in juries, portfolio reviews, and festivals. Faculty, International Center of Photography (ICP) School.
