This is a ten-week exploration of your work, emphasis is placed on creating resolved content for this project portfolio. In this course, students hone their skills in realizing images, developing the story, editing and creating a skillful sequence.
The course will be composed of virtual meetings – both individual and group as a way to address ideas and concepts with the instructor. Dynamic online critiques of all students with shared commentary in a direct online forum are also a part of this course. Each student will receive written commentary and analysis from the instructor. The guidance to initiate portfolio development will come from students making many images for conversation and critique to build a unique context.
Classes will meet in the virtual classroom on Mondays at 1:30pm EST.
Class length: 10 weeks, starting Monday, March 23, 2020
Students will receive an invitation to the class after registering.
Instructor: Brenton Hamilton
Brenton holds his MFA in photography from the Savannah College of Art & Design. He is the Chair of the Professional Certificate in Visual Storytelling program at Maine Media College. His teaching specialties include, B&W Craft, Historic Processes, and the History of Photography at MMC. Brenton is an enthusiastic workshop leader exhibiting special care and interest in the teaching process and for his students.
