This is a special week of intense investigation of the cyanotype process: we will investigate all of its technical and aesthetic conventions.

The conventional CC type, The Ware Process, the wet cyanotype, cyanotype mural, post treatment toners, hand coloring and the new “wet cyanotype”.

There will be lectures on technique, chemistry demos and we will look carefully at paper choice and tools. Mostly though, we will practice making images in the cyanotype realm.

Digital negatives are made on campus from your digital files, as we have an excellent working laboratory devoted to historic techniques.

A short materials list will be provided and you will need to bring a few things along with you to Maine.
