This 2-day class is ideal for filmmakers, photographers, and video professionals who already have some experience, and want to up their game shooting with their DSLR or Mirrorless camera, as well as gain a great introduction to the color correction process.

Since the late 2000s, the DSLR/DSLM has become widely adopted by filmmakers and video professionals who are looking to create high quality cinematic visuals without feature-film budgets. Since then these cameras have not only dramatically increased in their shooting capability, but they have also become more and more conducive to professional color grading workflow, creating the opportunity for filmmakers to take their high quality images that much further.

In this course we begin by discussing various approaches to shooting (both aesthetic and technical) and ways to effectively utilize your DSLR or Mirrorless system. We will cover best practices with camera settings, operation, the options and merits of peripheral gear, as well as fundamental approaches to visual storytelling.

In the latter portion of the course we will explore color correction and grading with DaVinci Resolve. Students will have the opportunity to work with their shot footage and experience the full process from basic node structure to final delivery.

This weekend course affords a great opportunity to delve into both the shooting and color grading process. Gain versatility in your skillset, and add a powerful new addition to your post production workflow that will help you push your cinematic image to a new level.

For the Online iteration of this course, Students must have their own DSLR or Mirrorless camera at home. They will also need to download the free version of DaVinci Resolve.
