The Golden Bough, 2020

An original hand-crafted folio created by Brenton Hamilton and Richard Reitz Smith.

Each piece is 15in w x 20in h x 1.675in deep. The case is covered in Iris midnight blue book cloth that is printed from handset Bembo type in gold letterpress ink.T he interior features a gold foil stamp lifting lid and a photopolymer letterpress printed story also set in Bembo font and printed  on Canson paper framed by a handmade gray paper. The revealed well showcases Brenton Hamilton’s cyanotype print “The Golden Bough” accented with hand applied gold foil. The print is mounted to cloth covered bookboard and is free floating within the well. Each presentation case is signed and numbered by Richard Reitz Smith. Each print is signed and dated by Brenton Hamilton. This is an edition of 5.

The special Fortune Favor has a print that has foil accented leaves while the other four have a golden starry sky pattern.

SOLD-Whispers of the Earth

Whispers from the Earth was printed on a Vandercook Universal III and bound by the author/artist Tara Law during her time as Book Artist in Residence at Maine Media in 2018. The images accompanying the text are duotones printed on Hahnemuhle German Etching paper with an Epson SureColor P800 printer. The font used for the total pare and the cover is Luna. The text for the poem is in Adobe Garamond Pro. The paper used for the wrapper is Arches 88. Edition number 6/25
