Valerie Carrigan works out of her studio in a historic mill in North Adams, Massachusetts, where she produces prints and artist books. Through monotype, relief and letterpress printing, she explores the intersection of the natural world and the human spirit. Carrigan was the 2015 Book Artist in Residence at Maine Media Workshops + College where she produced a limited edition artist book titled The Walk. She is also a recent awardee of the Assets for Artists grant at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA). Her work is found in collections such as the Smithsonian Libraries Artists’ Book Collection, The University of Vermont Arts of the Book Collection, and the Smith College Book Arts Collection. Carrigan is a Visiting Artist and Lecturer at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
