Suzi Pond is an awarding-winning digital journalist, producer and storyteller. She is the founder and owner of Redbird Media Group a video/film production company based in Freeport, Maine that specializes in commercial, nonprofit, and fundraising projects. She teaches beginner audio storytelling at Maine Media Workshops and the Oklahoma Fall Arts Institute. She is based in Freeport, Maine.
Suzi cut her journalism chops at Boston magazine as Online Editor and later at the Portland Press Herald / Maine Sunday Telegram as the first dedicated multimedia producer. In 2011, Suzi became Chief Storyteller at United Way of Greater Portland where she created audio and video stories that engaged the community.
A graduate of the radio documentary program at the SALT Institute for Documentary Studies, her audio work has appeared on NPR’s “All Things Considered.” In 2011, she won two First-Place NEAPNEA awards. In 2008, her collaborative documentary film “Let’s Make a Deal” won First Place in the Portland Phoenix Short Film Festival. Her teaching experience includes audio editing at WMPG in Portland, Maine, as well as basic audio and multimedia production techniques to photography and writing students at the SALT Institute for Documentary Studies. Suzi is a proud Skidmore College graduate.
