Susan Michlovitz, PT, PhD, CHT is a physical therapist and certified hand therapist who specializes in the hand and upper extremity and works with artists, musicians, and photographers. She loves to teach, learn and mentor. Over her 44-year career as a physical therapist, Sue has been on the faculties of Temple University, University of Pennsylvania, and Hahnemann University and currently is an Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine, Program in Physical Therapy, Columbia University. She has published textbooks, journal articles and book chapters and current serves as an Associate Editor, Journal of Hand Therapy. Sue was the 2013 President of the American Society of Hand Therapists and as served an Affiliate Member of Board of the American Association for Hand Surgery.

Sue is also an avid, somewhat-advanced, student of photography. She took her first course at MMW in 2002 and her most recent one in June 2017 with Cig Harvey. Her photographs have been shown in galleries in Ithaca, NY, where she lives with her husband, their two hounds and a somewhat calico cat. Since 2007, she has been on eight medical mission trips to Guatemala with Guatemala Healing Hands Foundation.
