Patrisha McLean is a writer and photographer specializing in portraits of children, and in helping others bring attention to issues of social justice. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the country, including the Caldbeck Gallery and Center for Maine Contemporary Art in Rockland and the Silver Eye Gallery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her photographs are in the permanent collections of the Farnsworth Museum and Portland Museum of Art. She teaches at the Maine Media Workshops and is the author of All Fall Down, a biography of the child actor Brandon deWilde, and two books of portraits accompanied by stories: My Island, published in 2015, and Maine Street. Reflective of her love for all things handmade and elegant, she is also a passionate calligrapher.
