Darren Ching

Established in 2007 by Debra Klomp Ching and Darren Ching, the Klompching Gallery specializes in the exhibition and sale of contemporary fine art photographs from its street level space in Brooklyn, New York. The gallery quickly established itself with an international roster of extraordinary contemporary photographers, including Max de Esteban, Lisa M. Robinson, Richard Tuschman, Helen Sear, Robert Moran, and Jim Naughten. Artworks have been placed by the gallery into numerous private and public collections, including the Eastman Museum, Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago and Museum of Fine arts, Houston. Klompching Gallery is a member of aIpaD (association of International photography art Dealers), the only Brooklyn-based commercial art gallery in its membership. Each July/august the gallery presents FrEsh, its annual summer show of emerging talent, curated from an international open call.

As owner of the Klompching Gallery, Darren Ching brings extensive knowledge on photography from the perspective of an art dealer. He is also a Photography Editor for AtLength.com, writes, lectures and participates on panels on the subject of photography. Mr. Ching is a regular at notable portfolio reviews and juror for numerous photo competitions. As a photo educator he has taught or critiqued in the photo departments of SVA, MICA, RISD and SCAD. Mr. Ching is formerly Creative Director of PDN, and works as a freelance designer for photography-based projects. Additionally, he is a perennial co-curator for the gallery’s annual FRESH photo competition and private consultant to all levels of photographers.
