Charlie began his career as a freelance editorial still photographer. After several years of enhancing these skills he was hired to shoot production stills on a documentary project. Finding cinema as interesting as stills, Charlie pursued that branch of photography by first working in documentary, educational and industrial film. He eventually moved to Los Angeles and found success as a Director of Photography in dramatic television and independent film. His love of natural locales caused him to shift his subject of interest from urban landscapes to natural ones.

Charlie’s Director of Photography credits include “Heroes”, “Love Bites”, “Standoff”, “Joan of Arcadia”, “Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer” and “Everwood”. He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
