Ben West is an acclaimed Director and Visual Effects Supervisor working at the Academy Award-winning LA.-based studio Framestore (Top Gun: Maverick, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, Blade Runner 2049). Ben’s diverse creative background spans film, television, graphic novels, architecture, and immersive projects. He has worked with clients such as Disney, Marvel, Universal, Netflix, and Apple. His work has been featured internationally at Cannes, Venice Biennale, and ComicCon. Initially trained as an Architect, he transitioned into the entertainment industry as a Visual Effects Supervisor for Episodic Television, utilizing his creative and technical skills. He expanded his expertise by earning a Masters in Directing. In addition to commercial directing at Radical Media, he has an impressive portfolio of award-winning short films, including his notable work, FUGU & TAKO, which received accolades for its innovative animation techniques using a hybrid performance of live action and VFX. Ben’s recent projects include Disney and Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: BREAKOUT!’ and Comcast’s Universal Sphere, which was a collaboration with Steven Spielberg and nominated for a Visual Effects Society award. He has lectured at UCLA and SciArc for Fiction and Entertainment and has been a TEDx speaker.
