Alex S. Jones is winner of the Pulitzer Prize for his reporting on the news media for The New York Times. For 15 years, he was Director of the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School and he is now co-executive editor of DailyChatter.com, a daily email newsletter focused on international news. Before Harvard, he was the Patterson Professor at Duke University, and his courses included one focused on op-ed writing. He and his late wife, Susan E. Tifft, co-authored The Patriarch: The Rise and Fall of the Bingham Dynasty and The Trust: The Private and Powerful Family Behind The New York Times, which was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle award. He also is author of Losing The News: The Future of the News That Feeds Democracy In 2018, he created a website of personal memoir and podcasts.
