In this hands-on, energetic and fresh course, each day new bindings are demonstrated and practiced in addition to daily critiques, surveys of contemporary book arts and discussions of design, content, text and image. This is a class for people who love to make things with their hands. No previous experience necessary. The digital lab will be available to make prints of work but students are encouraged to bring as much content in the form of images, text, maps, etc, with them.

Winter/Spring lodging and meal package available for $475. Includes breakfast and lunch Monday – Friday. Dinner services are not available during our Winter/Spring session. Meal plan (mandatory) without lodging is $125

Instructor: Cig Harvey

Cig Harvey is a member of the core faculty of the MFA degree program at Maine Media College. Cig’s photographs and artist’s books have been exhibited widely and are in the permanent collections of major museums and collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, The Farnsworth Museum, Rockland, and the International Museum of Photography, George Eastman House, Rochester. She was nominated for the 2013 John Gutmann Award and was a finalist at Prix Virginia, an international photography prize for women.
