This is a comprehensive, hands-on workshop that is designed to help video professionals understand their camcorder better and improve their shooting skills. This class is not specific to any one model or brand of camera and students are encouraged to bring their own camcorder and tripod to the workshop, where they will receive both classroom instruction and real-world shooting experience in a variety of field production environments. Students from all skill levels are welcome.
Under the guidance of respected freelance television cameraman and Sony camcorder trainer, Doug Jensen, who has over 38 years of experience in the industry, students learn about camera setup, menu options, picture profiles, scene files, video format options, exposure techniques, white balancing, manual focusing methods, cinematic depth of field, composition, sound recording, time-lapse, slow-motion, camera movement, lens selection, custom clip naming, working with Sony S-LOG & RAW, and even an introduction to basic color grading with DaVinci Resolve.
This is an ideal course for owner/operators, corporate production staff, freelancers, government/military personnel, and even advanced amateurs who want to take their skills to a higher level. Note: Students are encouraged to bring their own camcorder and support gear if they choose, but it is not a requirement of the course.
