Note: This Class will be held in a live, online format using the Zoom Platform
Class meets 2-5pm ET for four sessions  (October 19th, 21st, 26th & 28th)

In this generative workshop, we’ll focus on a different fundamental aspect of poetry in each class:

  1. Titles
  2. Various forms of repetition/pattern-making, and
  3. Endings

Each class session we’ll move through a series of readings and writing exercises that hone in on one of these particular craft elements.

The goal for each of these sessions is to generate one full draft of a poem by the end, along with some ideas and notes for other potential poems.

For the last session, the instructor will be available for one-on-one meetings to offer feedback on participants’ poem drafts (these can be poems written during the workshop or other poems).

We’ll strive toward what poet Jericho Brown has called “the gorgeous and enduring thing.”
