Celebrated Director of Photography, and Director Uta Briesewitz, ASC, DGA (THE WIRE, TRUE BLOOD, STRANGER THINGS, WESTWORLD, ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK) discusses her experiences, her vision and her approaches as a cinematographer, as well as the working relationship between the director and DP, and her experiences in both roles.
In addition to being offered on an individual basis, this course is also part of the Online Cinematography Master Class Series, which includes presentations by Rodrigo Prieto, ASC (The Wolf of Wall Street, The Irishman), Checco Varese ASC (IT: Chapter 2, Jack Ryan) and more! Uta Briesewitz is a director and Emmy-nominated cinematographer. After years as a prominent cinematographer, she is now a leading director in television, directing shows like STRANGER THINGS, ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, WESTWORLD, THE DEUCE, JESSICA JONES, THIS IS US, JANE THE VIRGIN, HUNG, HOUSE OF LIES, and WEEDS. Her cinematography credits include TRUE BLOOD, THE WIRE, FRESH OFF THE BOAT, HUNG, ARTHUR, and several feature films directed by Brad Anderson: NEXT STOP WONDERLAND, SESSION 9, XX/XY, and many other films and shows. In 2007, she was presented the Women in Film Crystal Award for her achievements in cinematography.
