Use age-old techniques to create beautiful Patterned papers and Presentation boxes
There are no available registration dates at this time.
This weeklong workshop starts with creating colorful and patterned papers with paste paper and marbling techniques which you will then incorporate into presentation boxes suited for portfolio reviews or extra special gifts. You will be guided through the process of cutting and building boxes from scratch to expertly fit your photographs or any special object.
Paste paper is pigment-infused paste that is used to coat paper that then is “marked” with tools or rollers to create powerful and evocative surfaces suitable for many, many book art projects. You will leave with multiple sheets.
Marbled paper is created using ages-old techniques developed in Turkey where pigment is floated on the surface of a thickened water and manipulated in flowing patterns and then transferred to the surface of paper.
Winter/Spring lodging and meal package available for $525 per week. Includes breakfast and lunch Monday – Friday. Dinner services are not available during our Winter/Spring session. Meal plan (mandatory) without lodging is $150 per week.
