Emphasis on digitally created negatives and platinum printing are the primary investigations of this course. Students choose two processes for in-depth practice creating a portfolio of images. Technical information from lectures and demonstrations and significant practice in supervised labs are components. Ink gravure, Platinum and Wet plate collodion are all emphasized.

The class meets Wednesday 9:00am-5:00pm
(Afternoon is Supervised Lab)

Instructor: Brenton Hamilton

Brenton holds his MFA in photography from the Savannah College of Art & Design. He is the Chair of the Professional Certificate in Visual Storytelling program at Maine Media College. His teaching specialties include, B&W Craft,  Historic Processes, and the History of Photography at MMC. Brenton is an enthusiastic workshop leader exhibiting special care and interest in the teaching process and for his students.
