This class, for students with a basic understanding of the essentials of After Effects, goes deeper into the software and opens up a whole new range of possibilities for working within the program. Students explore expanded 2D and 3D tools, rotoscoping, and other advanced features and expressions that take advantage of Javascript written within the software.

Additional skills include the ability to confidently combine painting, motion tracking, text, and keying effects. Puppetry tools, auto-tracing, and animation of 3D layers, advanced keying, effects, and matte creation are also addressed. Through daily lessons and hands-on assignments, students explore the practical, real-world use of the advanced tools of After Effects to create dynamic 2D and 3D motion graphics for use in keying and compositing for film, video or multimedia.
