If film is art, corporate writing is all about translation and design. Created for writers and producers working in corporate and government settings, this one-week course gives you the tools and inspiration you need to tell compelling stories that speak to your audience and make you more valuable to your organization. Learn from corporate communications experts alongside your peers in an intimate class setting designed around your unique needs and experiences.

You’ll get an in depth look into the writer/producer’s role in video production today, with formal lectures, creative exercises, and hands-on assignments. You’ll learn the “Four Truths” of good storytelling, as well as the fundamentals of scripting – understanding your audience, brainstorming, getting organized, grammar, editing, sentence structure, and visualizing (what to show instead of say). You’ll also work on a project for a real client, giving you a chance to hone your presentation skills, pitch the big idea and sell-in your concept. The class will also have an opportunity to explore other aspects of corporate communications, including social media, intranets, mobile apps and more.

Take your thinking out of the cubicle to a whole new level. You’re encouraged to bring your work in progress and/or project ideas to share with instructors and the class.


Bob Rosswaag

Bob specializes in developing positioning, messaging and internal communications for some of the world’s best known brands, including American Express, ANN INC., Avon, HSBC, Mondelēz, Roche, T. Rowe Price, UBS, Unilever, and many others.

On a parallel track, he has a special love for teaching and has conducted onsite writing workshops for clients (including Charles Schwab and Raytheon) and guest lectures in advertising at his alma mater, Seton Hall University.

Bob holds bachelor degrees in communication and English and a master’s degree in English from Seton Hall.

Jeanne Reilly

After more than 25 years working in Corporate America and being the driving force behind hundreds of promotional and motivational videos, Jeanne Reilly is now the President of Baldwin Street Productions, a Montclair-based agency specializing in video production and creative content.
Producer, director, rainmaker, coach - Jeanne wears many hats, knows where the talent is, and has gathered together an extensive network of the most innovative, successful and award winning talent in corporate video production.
She’s also a teacher, formerly at Seton Hall University’s graduate program in Communication and currently at the Maine Media College + Workshops in Rockport, Maine. She also provides on-site consultation and designs workshops on video production and ideation for organizations that include Charles Schwab and Raytheon. 
Jeanne is a co-founder and co-producer of “Oscar Shorts - Celebrate the Underdog” which screens all the Oscar® nominated short films in a one-day film marathon in Montclair, New Jersey every year since 2010.
