Join us as we explore the art and process of creating photo encaustic works.

This is a hands on workshop learning the photo encaustic process through shooting assignments and exercises exploring a personal voice inimage making. We will touch on poetry and myth for inspiration and guidance along the way. By adding beeswax, oil pigments, collage and/or words to an image, a dreamlike mood emerges, the perfect setting for this journey. Students will need a digital camera or you may borrow one from the school, a computer for editing and 15 images from your portfolio to share for the first day of class. No prior encaustic experience necessary. Encaustic supplies will be provided for you.
