It’s official! This week, September 24 – 29, 2023, has been proclaimed Maine Media Workshops + College Week by Governor Janet Mills.
We’re honored to announce that Governor Janet Mills has declared this week Maine Media Workshops + College Week, in recognition of the organization’s lasting dedication to education and the arts in the state of Maine. In our 50th year, and following our full accreditation by the New England Commission on Higher Education in May, this Proclamation only continues to affirm the value of our mission, to provide lifelong learning opportunities for artists and creatives here in Maine and beyond.
We are so proud to receive this recognition. Thank you Gov. Mills, and all who have been a part of this journey!
To celebrate, we’re hosting a number of lectures and events:
– TONIGHT: join us in Rockport for one more on-campus lecture with photographers Mary Virginia Swanson & Susan kae Grant, followed by a book signing and print sale.
– Wednesday afternoon, tune into our next virtual Alumni Lecture, The Creative Entrepreneur: Making it Real with celebrated film producer Alexis Alexanian
– SOLD OUT: On Thursday, we celebrate 2023 Visionary Award honoree Cig Harvey in Rockland! Although the event is sold out, keep an eye out for the recording on our website, and see Cig’s exhibition FEAST at Dowling Walsh Gallery through Saturday.
Thank you Gov. Mills, and all who have been a part of this journey. We hope you can join us in celebrating this fantastic, 50-year legacy!
