Alison Shaw is a fine art and editorial photographer who lives and works on Martha’s Vineyard. For over 35 years, the island has provided the primary inspiration and subject matter for her fine art and editorial photography. Alison has twenty books to her credit, the most recent of which include Sticks & Stones: The Designs of Lew French (2016), Kale, Glorious Kale (2014), and Morning Glory’s Farm Food: Stories from the Field, Recipes from the Kitchen (2014). Alison is a regular contributor to Yankee Magazine, Cape Cod Life, Martha’s Vineyard Magazine and Vineyard Style. She teaches photography workshops on the island, as well as in Nova Scotia, Mexico, Maine, and New Zealand. The Alison Shaw Gallery, which Alison owns and runs with her partner Sue Dawson, is located in an old single-engine firehouse at 88 Dukes County Avenue in the heart of the Arts District in Oak Bluffs.
