STAFF PHOTOGRAPHER INTERN

Compensation: Accommodations (shared room/bath) plus meals when campus kitchen is serving (Sunday dinner through Friday dinner).

The Staff Photographer is an internship position working under the supervision of the Director of Marketing, and helping to capture various aspects of Maine Media summer through still photographs. If something interesting is happening on or off the Maine Media Campus, the Staff photographer works to get amazing images of it. The Staff Photographer intern generates content for Maine Media’s website, publications, and marketing materials and contributes to the Friday night presentations. The qualified candidate must be great at scheduling, collaborating, and willing to be there when that one class is doing something interesting when the sun sets/rises. The staff photographer works with Canon camera equipment, and is responsible for showcasing our sponsor’s gear in use, as well as our students on campus.
Basic Qualifications and Criteria
- Knowledge of DSLR camera
- Lightroom proficiency
What will be learned
This internship provides the opportunity to learn from experienced photographers and filmmakers and understand the use of imagery in service of marketing materials.
The Intern Experience
Each intern is assigned to a specific area where they will learn and assist instructors, fellow staff members and/or students with various projects. Each intern is responsible for managing their time wisely, while we do have work to do, we strongly encourage you to take the time to make images/films and enjoy in the Maine landscape. Interns are allowed access to our facilities when not in use by a class; this can be discussed with your supervisor. Round table portfolio sharing events will be offered to the interns and TA’s weekly. This will include a rotation of upper level staff and faculty.
