The responsibilities of this position are carried out under the guidance of the Film Program Manager. This individual must have experience in the field, a technical background, and the capability to work well with groups of people, as well as in one on one situations. The ability to clearly and confidently communicate information to instructors, students, vendors and fellow colleagues is a must. Duties may include all elements involved in producing a workshop from project management through to set work. The individual should be well organized, responsible, personable, dependable, and a creative problem solver.

Basic Qualifications and Criteria
  • Pursuing a bachelors in film, media or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Background in business, arts administration and/or events
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Able to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience working as a team
  • Sense of humor and passion for the subject
  • Mac/PC knowledge
What will be learned

The Film Program Intern will learn the responsibilities associated with programming the film workshops, networking, and communicating with sponsors, vendors, instructors and staff in the film program.

The Intern Experience

Each intern is assigned to a specific area where he/she will learn and assist instructors, fellow staff members and/or students with various projects. Each intern is responsible for managing their time wisely, while we do have work to do, we strongly encourage you to take the time to make images/films and enjoy in the Maine landscape. Interns are allowed access to our facilities when not in use by a class; this can be discussed with your supervisor. Round table portfolio and reel sharing events will be offered to the interns and TAs weekly. This will include a rotation of upper level staff and faculty.
