This week is dedicated to exploring the craft, process and techniques of directing.

Casting, rehearsal techniques, script, storyboarding and scene analysis are examined and experienced by each class member. Students explore and develop effective ways to lead, inspire, manage and direct the cast and crew’s creative energies in order to realize the directorial vision. This course is specifically designed to provide an understanding of storytelling techniques and story development through working with actors.

Throughout the week, students cast and rehearse scenes working with actors, to work out blocking and camera moves, and inspire performances from all involved. The goal is to explore the directorial and collaborative processes and the techniques needed to create convincing performances while exploring the important role the director takes in the leadership of a production.
