Description

The responsibilities of this position are carried out under the guidance of the Director of Operations & Production. The Production Intern is an integral part of the Production staff, helping with daily tasks and acting as a liaison between faculty, teaching assistants, Operations staff and various departments throughout MMW. As such, candidates for this position should possess excellent organization skills, have a professional interpersonal demeanor, and be able to identify and quickly solve problems. Daily tasks will include assistance with workshop pre-production and assistance with real time monitoring and coordination of active workshops. This position is ideal for those looking to gain valuable skills in arts administration, while participating in a vibrant arts community.

What will be learned

This internship provides the opportunity to learn about the various aspects of an educational institution devoted to creativity and learning. An intern working in the production environment will regularly interact with photographers, filmmakers, writers, book artists, actors and models as well as students, staff and instructors.

The Intern Experience

Each intern is assigned to a specific area where they will learn and assist instructors, fellow staff members and/or students with various projects. Each intern is responsible for managing their time wisely, while we do have work to do, we strongly encourage you to take the time to make images/films and enjoy in the Maine landscape. Interns are allowed access to our facilities when not in use by a class; this can be discussed with your supervisor. Round table portfolio and reel sharing events will be offered to the interns and TAs weekly. This will include a rotation of upper level staff and faculty.
