Description

The responsibilities of this position are carried out under the guidance of the Film Program Manager and Lead Editor. This individual must have a technical background and the capability to work well with groups of people, as well as in one-on-one situations. The individual should be well organized, responsible, personable, dependable, and a creative problem solver.

Basic Qualifications and Criteria

  • Pursuing a bachelors in film, media, or a related field, or equivalent vocational training
  • Reel or portfolio representing your work
  • Mac/PC knowledge
  • Customer service experience and strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud applications
  • Knowledge of Final Cut Pro
  • Knowledge of DaVinci Resolve
  • Understanding of various digital workflows

What will be learned

The Post Production Intern will get the opportunity to learn under the mentorship and guidance of the Lead Editor and Staff Editor. The experience will prepare the interns to work as an Assistant Editor, as well as give them the opportunity to work with students on a one-on-one basis learning how to collaborate with directors and producers in the post-production process.

The Intern Experience

Each intern is assigned to a specific area where they will learn and assist instructors, fellow staff members and/or students with various projects. Each intern is responsible for managing their time wisely, while we do have work to do, we strongly encourage you to take the time to make images/films and enjoy in the Maine landscape. Interns are allowed access to our facilities when not in use by a class; this can be discussed with your supervisor. Round table portfolio and reel sharing events will be offered to the interns and TAs weekly. This will include a rotation of upper level staff and faculty.
