Take control of your equipment and environment to improve vision, style, and lighting techniques

Arlene Collins

A photographer’s ability to capture images involves balancing lighting and the aesthetics of their vision. This workshop helps the intermediate and advanced photographer learn to pre-visualize their images by controlling exposure and light. Photographers  learn to properly expose and light in the most challenging situations with whatever equipment is available in their bags. Emphasis is on understanding exposure and creating a natural look with on camera flash.

Lectures and on-location demonstrations include setting up cameras for long exposures, using a camera flash unit as a fill light and the main source of light, and using light modifiers. Students learn to take control of their equipment and the environment to improve vision and refine style.

Each student needs a camera, flash unit and a tripod.
