A fascination with the human spirit and a digital camera are the only true pre-requisites for this workshop. Photography is changing as technology progresses. Gone are the days of stuffed shirts under smoked lights and mirrors. Recognize how the photographer may be impeded by his or her own tools and learn how to be truly present with the subject in the studio or on location. There will be high emphasis on experiential learning and discussion on the human condition.
A variety of photographic skill levels with emphasis on creativity are welcome. Assignments will be given and constructive, formal critiques will follow. Bring a good quality digital camera and an iPhone (or something similar). Techniques and advances in technology will be thoroughly discussed and demonstrated. A comfortable understanding of Photoshop and prior experience in visual art will be helpful to master this class.
