In this unique photo workshop, renowned instructor and photographer Tim Grey will help you master Adobe Photoshop Lightroom while guiding you through a real-world hands-on photography project.
At the beginning of the workshop the class will define a project to work on for the week. This will include a theme for the photos and general specifications for the final photographic presentation. Some of the basic configuration aspects of Lightroom will be covered, Each student will be given a photographic assignment as part of the project, based on their own preferences and style of photography.
The group will then venture out to capture photographic images for the project. This will provide participants with an opportunity to focus on photography with a particular goal in mind, as well as to get feedback and guidance on camera settings, photography, and approaching various subjects.
Back in the classroom, participants will learn how to import, sort, organize, keyword, and otherwise manage their photographic images. Attention will then turn to optimizing the images to make them look their best, including both the Develop module in Lightroom and the use of Photoshop to produce the best final results.
With the images organized and optimized (and perhaps with some short follow-up photography outings), the workshop will then focus on delivering images to the client for the sample project, and preparing images for the final presentation.
The final result will be presented at the end of the week as part of the group show for all of the workshops occurring the same week at Maine Media Workshops.
When all is said and done, participants will have a tremendous sense of confidence in their ability to meet the demands of a photography project, whether for a client or for themselves. They’ll also gain a strong understanding of the best workflow to efficiently put Lightroom (and Photoshop) to use to capture, manage, optimize, and share photographic images successfully.
