Understanding lighting, both in the studio and on location, is a crucial part of creating the desired effect in Portrait Photography. This intensive workshop is for advanced amateurs and new professionals wanting to work more creatively as portrait photographers.
This course covers camera formats (including digital), lenses, films and a variety of strobe equipment and focuses on lighting patterns, quality of light, and lighting ratios. Students learn to incorporate styling, composition and the photographer-subject-client relationships in photographs. They also discover new ways to set up a portrait and establish a comfortable rapport with subject while capturing true character and intimate, revealing moments. Bobbi covers portraiture for commercial, editorial, and corporate clients.
Assignments this week include photographing fellow students, local residents, and models. The emphasis throughout the class is to develop each photographer's personal vision and portfolio.
Digital is encouraged and B&W film is also welcome.
