A master class exploring photographic approaches to the portrait and human form

Joyce Tenneson This workshop helps you feel more confident about photographing and assessing light so that you maximize your abilities to make great portraits.

Group assignments and demonstrations help illustrate the creative choices and problem solving techniques Joyce uses in her award-winning portraits. Students learn how to build a simple outdoor studio which brings top portrait results and is simple and inexpensive to set up. Photographing people is Joyce's passion and she brings this energy and vitality into the workshop setting.

Students photograph on location, mastering the way to use available light to create strong and memorable portraits. Joyce conducts demos so participants can see how she works with people to bring out their unique personality. Students may work in 35mm or medium format, B&W or Polaroid as well as digital.

The workshop is open to fine-art photographers or emerging professionals.
