This is a weekend to explore your future. We look at your personal artwork, interview you in-depth and give you ideas to help you discover your career options, creative outlets and educational opportunities. Our faculty looks at your personal and professional portfolio or filmmaker's reel and give you honest, valuable feedback. We will discuss your next step, recommend books to read, photographers and filmmakers to study, and suggest workshops to take. Through lectures and discussions, we explore your creative aspirations and career desires while helping you define your goals more clearly. Our faculty and career counselors help you plan your self-education and projects to undertake to help you develop as a more creative person. We work to realign your professional, personal and creative lives, give you tips on how to achieve greater personal success and fulfillment in your career.
This 2-Day retreat is for creative professionals, artists and amateurs who want professional and inspiring help to get their personal and professional lives back on track and moving, and those who want help in selecting a workshop or program of personal study.
Photographers: Bring a selection of your work for review by the faculty and our instructors. We will also provide insight and career planning for professionals wanting to advance their careers, including work on self-promotion, setting up a business, financial planning and setting goals.
Filmmakers: Bring a digital reel of your work for critique. We will help you map your career path within the film and video world, based on your talents, personality and interests. We outline career paths in film, television and independent filmmaking to help you select a training and educational program geared to achieving your goals.
Writers: Bring a personal statement or poem reflecting your challenges, work situation and expressing your desires.
Lunch is included, other meals are on your own. Lodging is available on campus, private room & bath. $75/night
