What is a good story, and how does it get created? What are the steps involved from inception to execution? This workshop looks at the "bookends" of a successful project: creating the "pitch" or the proposal, and looking at the editing and distribution of the work. All too often, photographers have brilliant ideas, but without having focus and clarity in the presentation of that idea, rarely can a commission happen. Once a participant's proposal has been approved, an intensive period of photography and editing will begin. The latter half of the workshop explores ideas in editing, sequencing and consideration of where the final story is seen. Once complete, each participant will have a solid proposal which can then be used for magazines, grants, galleries or for personal use, and a completed project that pushes their ideas of what photo editing can be.
