Create dynamic, professional layouts of text and imagery for print and digital publishing.

This hands-on workshop teaches participants the ins and outs of Adobe’s extensive design program. From master pages and importing graphics to formatting text and typography, this course encompasses the basics for any individual diving into this industry standard software. Students work in the digital lab refining their skills both technically and creatively.  Participants view many examples of successful design as well as the workflow to accomplish similar projects. Daily lecture and exercises address topics such as page elements, managing styles, working with paths, incorporating external files, managing long documents and pre-flighting and packaging files for print, mobile and web publishing. Students should bring samples of their own works for publication or ideas for projects to work on throughout the week.

This course includes the Adobe InDesign Text in its tuition.

Winter/Spring lodging and meal package available for $475. Includes breakfast and lunch Monday – Friday. Dinner services are not available during our Winter/Spring session. Meal plan (mandatory) without loding $125.

Katherine Boughton-Hummel

Katherine Boughton-Hummel is a graphic designer, software educator and artist based out of Spruce Head, Maine. She holds her B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the University of Akron’s Myers School of Art. She specializes in graphic design for print production.
Ms. Boughton- Hummel is the co-founder of the Same Star Collective, an emergent arts organization expanding cosmic consciousness.
